They also feature an intuitive operating concept (including ChatGPT), powerful drive systems with impressive performance metrics, and high-end sports suspension. For motorsport enthusiasts, optional equipment packages offer special driving profiles for track use, increased top speeds, and features such as a GPS lap timer and G-meter.
The Golf GTI Clubsport stands out as the most powerful GTI, equipped with a front differential lock as standard. Recently unveiled during the legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, this model is equally at home on the track. Its turbocharged engine delivers 400 Nm of torque and 221 kW (300 PS), with power transferred via an electronically controlled front differential lock. The top speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h but can be increased to 267 km/h with the Race package. A large rear roof spoiler ensures maximum downforce, and the selectable Special driving mode optimizes the car’s performance for fast laps on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
The all-wheel-drive Golf R models, including the Variant and the Black Edition, are equipped with R-Performance torque vectoring. These models feature optimized driving dynamics, exclusive standard equipment, and an output of 245 kW (333 PS), an increase of 10 kW (14 PS) from their predecessors. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 4.6 seconds for the Golf R and 4.8 seconds for the Variant. The top speed of 250 km/h can be raised to 270 km/h with the R-Performance package, making these the fastest Volkswagen production models, alongside the Arteon R Shooting Brake.
Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) is standard in these models, continuously adjusting to the road surface and driving situation for maximum comfort and dynamic performance. Up to seven driving profiles are available, including a Special driving profile for the Nürburgring Nordschleife and a Drift mode for secured terrains.
The Golf R Black Edition is distinguished by its all-black design, featuring darkened headlights, Volkswagen badges, R logos, black exhaust trims, and a dark wheel profile. It comes standard with the R-Performance package and IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, as well as a larger roof spoiler for additional downforce.
Additionally, all models, including the Golf GTI Clubsport, Golf R, Golf R Variant, and Golf R Black Edition, can be equipped with an optional titanium exhaust system from Akrapovič, which provides a unique sound profile.
