A vintage Ferrari is set to sell for as little as £18,500…but there is a bit of a catch.
The blue 1969 365 GT 2+2 has its original chassis number.
But that’s about all it comes with.
The classic motor – which should be worth about £190,000 – doesn’t even have any wheels.
It is missing most of the body panels and the drivetrain.
The parts of the rusty motor have been piled up on each other and placed on a pallet.
It looks like it would be better suited for a scrapyard than an auction house.
There is no engine either but it can be bought in auction in a separate lot for £7,500.
The Ferrari was in an accident 47 years ago and hasn’t been driven since.
It will need an “ambitious restoration” or just be used as “art.”
The car is being sold by RM Sotheby’s at an auction on 26 October in Los Angeles, California US.
The guide price is between £18,500 and £26,000, as reported by Luxury Auto News.
A spokesperson for the auctioneers said: “Originally finished in Azzurro Hyperion over Blu Connolly leather with blue carpets.
“US-delivery example, sold new by Chinetti Motors to Mr Kazanjian of New York City
“Acquired in 1977 following an accident.
“Sold without drivetrain and some body panels; still bears original chassis number stamp and tag.”
They added: “An intriguing basis for an ambitious restoration, or excellent garage art.
“The engine corresponding to this lot, numbered 12365GT, is available as Lot 104.”
A similar car sold at another auction for £190,000 two years ago.
