A vintage motor bought by the Poldark actor Robin Ellis is going under the hammer.
The 1970 Jensen Interceptor II was delivered to the star hot off the production line, on 6 May 1970 for £8,000.
Robin, now 82, was a jobbing actor at the time, going on to find fame as the lead role and heartthrob Captain Ross Poldark in the hit TV series that ran in the mid-70s.

In the 2015 BBC remake of the show, the part was played by Aidan Turner of The Hobbit fame.
Arwin Richards of Iconic Auctioneers, who are selling the motor, said in today’s market the original price would be equivalent to £150,000.
Powered by a V8 engine, the classic car is finished in an elegant pale grey with black leather interior and has 84,000 miles on the clock.
Arwin told Luxury Auto News: “We love a funky car with a groovy backstory so having been bought new by 1970s heartthrob Robin Ellis, this Jensen is a great example of the jet-set reputation the Interceptor had, and still has today.
“With a mega history file, subtly upgraded and subject to an older restoration the car has the perfect blend of period interior and beautifully restored exterior.”
The vehicle will go under the hammer on 24 August at The Wing, Silverstone Circuit.
The Jensen’s celebrity owner list doesn’t stop with Captain Poldark – both Frank Sinatra and Manchester United boss Sir Matt Busby drove an Interceptor.
