Electric cars represent the future of the automotive industry, with a growing number of automakers expanding their EV lineups annually.
Established manufacturers and emerging brands such as Lucid, Canoo, and Rivian are all investing heavily in electric vehicles. Below is a compilation of upcoming electric vehicles, ranging from concepts to near-production models, that are set to hit the market soon.

Acura ZDX (Expected: Early 2024)
The ZDX name, previously used for Acura’s coupe-SUV, is being revived for a midsize crossover that will be Acura’s first EV when it launches early next year. Riding on General Motors’ Ultium battery platform, the 2024 ZDX shares components with the Cadillac Lyriq and features a 102.0-kWh battery offering up to 325 miles of range. The lineup includes a 340-hp, single-motor, rear-wheel-drive A-Spec model, starting around $60,000, and a 500-hp, dual-motor, all-wheel-drive Type S with upgraded brakes, adaptive dampers, and air suspension.
Alfa Romeo Giulia EV (Expected: 2026)
Alfa Romeo’s gas-powered Giulia is set for an electric transformation. The new electric Giulia will come in several versions, with the base model expected to produce around 350 hp and the high-performance Quadrifoglio variant delivering over 1000 hp. Built on Stellantis Group’s STLA Large platform, the new Giulia will feature 800-volt charging capabilities and a range of up to 500 miles.
Alfa Romeo Stelvio EV (Expected: 2025)
Before the electric Giulia hits the market, Alfa Romeo will introduce an electric version of the Stelvio SUV in 2025. Like the upcoming Giulia, the Stelvio will be based on the STLA Large platform and will be available with both electric and internal-combustion powertrains.
Audi A6 e-tron (Expected: 2024)
The Audi A6 e-tron concept closely mirrors what the production model will look like. Built on the scalable Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, this vehicle will be sold alongside the gas-powered A6 and will feature two electric motors generating 469 horsepower. With 800-volt charging capability, the A6 e-tron is expected to offer a range of up to 400 miles.
Audi Q6 e-tron (Expected: Late 2024)
Positioned between the Q4 and Q8 e-tron crossovers, the Audi Q6 e-tron is built on the PPE platform shared with the Porsche Macan EV. It boasts a 94.4-kWh battery offering around 300 miles of range, and its 800-volt system allows for rapid DC fast charging. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive Q6 e-tron produces 422 hp, while the SQ6 e-tron offers 483 hp. It will be available alongside the gas-powered Q5 in late 2024.
Bentley EV (Expected: 2027)
Bentley has delayed its first EV to 2027 due to software and platform concerns. Built on a version of the Volkswagen Group’s PPE architecture, the Bentley EV is targeted to have a range of at least 373 miles and advanced driver assistance technology. Bentley plans to launch a series of EVs starting in 2027, with the goal of becoming fully electric by 2033.
BMW i5 M (Expected: 2026)
The upcoming BMW i5 M, expected in 2026, will feature a high-performance four-motor drivetrain with 1136 horsepower. This model will include wheel-by-wheel torque vectoring, brake-by-motor energy regeneration, and capabilities such as piloted drifting and tank turns. The i5 M promises a driving experience that integrates advanced control systems referred to internally as the “Hand of God.”
BMW 3-Series EV (Expected: 2026)
Previewed by the Neue Klasse concept, the electric BMW 3-Series is set to debut with a new design language and technological advancements. The concept features e-Ink technology on the window trim and a simplistic cabin with a full-width screen. Built on BMW’s next-gen EV platform, the production model is expected by 2026, offering up to 30% more range than current EVs.
BMW iX3 (Expected: 2025)
The BMW iX3, expected to launch in 2025, will follow the Vision Neue Klasse X concept. Positioned below the iX in the lineup, it will feature a thinner interpretation of BMW’s iconic kidney grille and a simplified interior with a large dashboard-spanning screen. The new platform will include an 800-volt architecture and a 30% range improvement over existing models.
Buick Electra (Expected: 2024)
Buick’s new all-electric SUV, the Electra E5, revives a historic nameplate and utilizes GM’s Ultium battery platform. Similar in size to the Chevrolet Equinox, the Electra E5 is expected to offer 300 miles of range and 340 horsepower. Buick aims to transition to a fully-electric lineup by 2030, with the Electra set to debut in 2024
