A bizarre yet highly collectible Ferrari, with a top speed limited to just 15 mph, is set to sell for an impressive £380,000.
This unique 2014 F12 Berlinetta was initially used as a development prototype for Ferrari’s high-performance F12tdf model.
Despite its mundane speed, the F12 Berlinetta prototype is an intriguing piece for collectors. It was modified by Ferrari to cap its speed, a stark contrast to the actual F12tdf, which can reach a blistering 211 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, as reported by Luxury Auto News.

This prototype, which served as a track-focused variant, was named after the Tour de France Automobile race and unveiled in October 2015. The previous owner imported the F12 Berlinetta to the USA for showroom display purposes before it was acquired by the current seller in 2022.
Although the car carries a hefty price tag, it is only permitted for off-road use due to its prototype status, making it ineligible for public road registration. This restriction, however, does not diminish its value to collectors who prize its unique place in Ferrari’s development history.
The prototype Ferrari comes with several accompanying items, including a battery tender, Zanasi Group inspection documents, and a bill of sale. The car is currently available for sale through a dealer in Costa Mesa, Los Angeles, California.
Under the hood, the vehicle is equipped with a detuned 6.3-liter V12 engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle. It features 20-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, carbon-ceramic brakes, a standard F12 Berlinetta hood, and rear quarter glass.
The interior boasts carbon-fiber trim, a console-mounted panel of cut-off switches, and the exterior is adorned with white vinyl roundels and Pirelli graphics, giving it a distinctive look. Despite being a prototype, the car has accumulated 20,000 miles.
This unique Ferrari F12 Berlinetta prototype, with its intriguing history and extreme rarity, represents a collector’s dream, providing a fascinating snapshot of Ferrari’s developmental process and an unusual piece of automotive history.
