Toyota has introduced the 6th-generation 4Runner, a versatile midsize SUV that blends rugged off-road capability with advanced technology and luxurious features. Scheduled to arrive at dealerships in January 2025, the 4Runner starts at an MSRP of $40,770, plus $1,450 for delivery.
Performance and Powertrains
The 2025 4Runner offers two powerful engine options:
- The i-FORCE 2.4-liter turbo engine delivers up to 278 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque with an EPA-estimated 26 MPG highway.
- The i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain generates up to 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque with an EPA-estimated 24 MPG highway.
All i-FORCE MAX models include standard 4-wheel drive, while other grades offer 2WD, part-time 4WD, or full-time 4WD.

Trail-Ready Features
New grades, Trailhunter and Platinum, join the 4Runner lineup, alongside returning favorites like the TRD Pro and TRD Off-Road. Each is equipped with specialized suspension systems tailored for off-road adventures. The Trailhunter features Old Man Emu® shocks, a high-mount air intake, 33-inch Toyo® tires, and an ARB® roof rack, while the TRD Pro includes FOX® adjustable shocks and a performance air intake.
Key off-road enhancements include Toyota’s Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism (SDM) for improved suspension articulation and Multi-Terrain Select with Crawl Control for tackling challenging terrain.
Advanced Technology
The 2025 4Runner boasts Toyota’s latest multimedia system, available with an 8-inch or 14-inch touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster is standard on all i-FORCE MAX grades, alongside features like a Qi wireless charger and JBL® FLEX portable speaker.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0
All models come equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, offering advanced features such as Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Proactive Driving Assist. Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) are also available for added safety.
Nine Distinct Grades
From the entry-level SR5 to the luxury-focused Platinum, the 2025 4Runner caters to a variety of lifestyles. The Platinum grade elevates the experience with premium leather seats, heated rear seats, a head-up display, and unique black styling elements.
Rugged and Refined
Built on Toyota’s TNGA-F platform, the 4Runner features a high-strength steel frame for increased rigidity and durability. It can tow up to 6,000 pounds and includes advanced towing features such as Trailer Back-Up Guide with Straight Path Assist.
