Toyota has revealed an early glimpse of a new GR Corolla development vehicle, hinting at an upcoming evolution of its performance lineup just ahead of the Formula Drift weekend in Long Beach.
Though full specifications remain under wraps, visible upgrades through the camouflaged exterior suggest a sharper focus on track-ready enhancements.

Spotted on the prototype are new aerodynamic elements including fender vents, hood vents, and a pronounced rear spoiler—indicators of improved downforce and airflow management. The model is expected to deliver a bump in torque and specialized tuning, reinforcing its racing DNA.
Dubbed as “born on the track,” the GR Corolla development vehicle is still undergoing refinement by Toyota GAZOO Racing engineers. The final test drive by Toyota honorary chairman Akio Toyoda, a long-time motorsport enthusiast, will mark the completion of its development phase.
This teaser follows Toyota’s ongoing commitment to performance innovation and sustainable mobility. With nearly 70 years in the U.S. market, Toyota currently offers 31 electrified options and will begin U.S.-based battery production at its North Carolina plant in spring 2025. Meanwhile, the GR series continues to represent the company’s racing spirit, blending motorsport heritage with cutting-edge technology.
More details on the GR Corolla prototype are expected to be unveiled in Fall 2025.
