LOS ANGELES (Aug. 1, 2024) – Toyota GAZOO Racing has announced exciting updates for the 2025 GR Corolla, including the addition of an 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) with paddle shifters, increased engine torque, and enhanced suspension. The new model aims to thrill both manual transmission enthusiasts and those who prefer automatic handling.
Performance Enhancements and New Transmission
Following its 2022 debut, the GR Corolla now features the 8-speed DAT, designed for quick shifting and optimal gear selection. This transmission offers a sporty driving experience, sensing driver inputs for precise gear changes. The updated GR Corolla delivers 295 lb.-ft. of torque, up from 273 lb.-ft., and retains its turbocharged G16E-GTS 1.6-liter 3-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower.
