Three yobs who sliced hole in Jeff Stelling’s £80,000 Range Rover not caught as cops END investigation

Three Vandals Escape Justice After Damaging Jeff Stelling’s £80,000 Range Rover

The perpetrators who slashed a hole in Jeff Stelling’s £80,000 Range Rover have evaded capture.

Despite a three-month investigation, police have been unable to track down the “scumbags” responsible for vandalizing the TalkSPORT presenter’s luxury vehicle.

Authorities have now closed their probe into the incident without identifying any suspects.

Stelling, 69, was infuriated when he discovered the damage to his silver SUV parked at a hotel car park.

The ex-Sky Sports Gillette Soccer Saturday host had parked his Range Rover Sport at the Casa Hotel in Lockoford Lane, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, while he was hosting a meet-and-greet event at a nearby theatre.

On the night of February 11, while Stelling was engaging with fans at the Winding Wheel Theatre—just a mile-and-a-half away—three vandals struck. Despite efforts to identify the culprits, the police investigation has come up empty-handed.

Stelling’s event, part of his 42-show tour across the UK, featured him and former Sky Sports colleague Bianca Westwood. Fans had the opportunity to purchase tickets ranging from £32.70 to a premium price of £52.80 for a chance to meet the TV and radio personality.

Upon returning to the car park, Stelling was horrified to find a gaping tear in the metal of his vehicle. In a social media post, he expressed his frustration: “Thanks, Chesterfield. Anyone who knows the scumbags who did this to my car while I was trying to entertain people, please let me know. What the f*ck has happened to people?”

Initially, Derbyshire Police launched an investigation following a report at 11:45 PM on February 11. The crime had occurred approximately 15 minutes before the call, and the suspects—described as three youths in dark clothing and face coverings—were not present at the scene.

A police spokesperson stated: “Local officers were given a description of the three individuals involved to check if they were still in the area.”

However, on May 20, the police admitted they had not been able to apprehend the vandals. The spokesperson added: “Investigations have taken place, but we have been unable to identify any suspects for this offence, and the matter has now been closed. However, if anyone has any information on this incident and hasn’t yet spoken to police, we’d urge them to contact us.”

Despite the closure of the case, the appeal for information remains open, leaving a sense of unfinished business for Stelling and his supporters.
