Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, calls the Q5 a vital success for the brand, describing it as a “sporty all-rounder” set to continue its legacy. The first generation, launched in 2008, has dominated the premium SUV segment, and this new edition builds on that success.
The Q5’s design emphasizes sportiness with a bold, dynamic exterior and a spacious, flexible interior. The rear seats are fully adjustable, expanding trunk space up to 1,473 liters. Additional features include ample storage areas, multiple USB-C ports, and an inductive charging tray. The SUV is available in three exterior variants and offers 11 color choices.
Inside, the Q5 combines user-centric design with modern technology, including the Audi MMI displays and optional passenger display. The infotainment system runs on Android Automotive OS, updated via over-the-air updates, and includes features like Bang & Olufsen’s 3D sound system.
Audi also introduces the MHEV plus system, offering mild-hybrid technology for enhanced performance and efficiency. Three engine versions will be available at launch, with options for both petrol and diesel engines, including the top-tier V6 in the Audi SQ5.
Production of the Q5 takes place at Audi’s San José Chiapa plant in Mexico, which follows sustainable practices like water recycling and efficient waste management. The new Q5 will be available in Europe starting in early 2025, with prices beginning at €52,300 for the base TFSI model.
