Subaru has earned accolades in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Cars for Teens awards across multiple segments. The 2024 Subaru Outback was named Best SUV in the $35K-$40K price range, while the 2024 Subaru Legacy secured the title of Best Car priced from $30K to $35K. Additionally, the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid was recognized as the Best Used Small SUV.
Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer of Subaru of America, Inc., expressed his pride: “We are pleased to receive the 2024 Best Cars for Teens award for Outback and Legacy from U.S.

Both the 2024 Legacy and Outback boast excellent safety ratings, including a perfect 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Outback has also been named a 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
All 2024 Subaru models, including those receiving Best New Cars for Teens awards, come standard with Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. This includes features like Automatic Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and Lead Vehicle Start Alert.
Subaru vehicles also offer teen driver controls and available smartphone apps that alert parents if the car exceeds a set speed, is driven outside specified times, or leaves a designated geographic area.
These features enable parents to set driving limits for their teens and maintain ongoing conversations about responsible driving habits. To qualify for the Best New Cars for Teens award, vehicles must excel in predicted reliability, crash test scores, available driver-assistance features, and critics’ recommendations within their price category.
SUBARU STARLINK® connected services enhance safety and convenience for parents of teen drivers. The STARLINK Safety Plus Package includes SOS emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance, automatic collision notification, maintenance notifications, monthly vehicle health reports, and diagnostic alerts.
For added peace of mind, the STARLINK Safety Plus & Security Plus Package includes remote engine start with climate control, stolen vehicle recovery service, vehicle security alarm notifications, remote lock/unlock, remote horn and lights, and remote vehicle locator.
Parenting features like boundary, speed, and curfew alerts are also included. The STARLINK Concierge Package provides in-vehicle assistance with restaurant and hotel reservations, purchasing tickets for events, and scheduling service appointments.
The 2024 Subaru Outback and Legacy are available at Subaru retailers nationwide, with starting prices of $28,895* for the Outback and $24,895* for the Legacy.
