For 2025, the IIHS introduced stricter crash tests, including an updated moderate overlap front test that evaluates rear-seat passenger protection. To qualify for TSP, vehicles must achieve an acceptable rating, while TSP+ winners must score good in this test.
Jeff Walters, President and COO of Subaru of America, Inc., emphasized the brand’s commitment to passenger safety, stating:
“We’re proud to offer vehicles that meet IIHS’ increasingly rigorous safety standards, ensuring all-around protection in our 2- and 3-row SUVs.”
Subaru’s 2025 lineup combines safety with versatility:
- Solterra (starting at $38,495 MSRP) is an all-electric SUV with 8.3 inches of ground clearance, offering best-in-class off-road capability among small EVs.
- Ascent (starting at $38,910 MSRP) provides flexible 7- and 8-passenger seating with a full suite of advanced safety and driver-assist features.
- Forester and Forester Hybrid (starting at $29,995 and $34,995 MSRP, respectively) feature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and the latest EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology.
