Subaru of America announced that the 2024 Solterra all-electric SUV has been awarded a 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), while the WRX earned a 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK. These awards reflect Subaru’s strong commitment to safety.
For 2024, IIHS updated its criteria for side impact protection, pedestrian crash prevention, and front overlap crash safety, making these awards even more significant.
Subaru’s lineup continues to shine, with the Ascent earning TOP SAFETY PICK+ for the fourth consecutive year and the Impreza and Outback receiving TOP SAFETY PICK awards for 17 and 16 years straight, respectively.
Subaru President Jeff Walters emphasized the brand’s focus on safety, celebrating the recognition for both the Solterra and WRX.
The 2024 Solterra, starting at $44,995, comes in Premium, Limited, and Touring trims, offering new features without a price increase from the previous year. The 2024 WRX, starting at $32,735, includes the WRX TR with performance upgrades. It features Subaru’s EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, a 271-horsepower turbocharged engine, and standard all-wheel drive across five trim levels.
Subaru’s total of 72 TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards since 2013 is the highest of any brand as of September 2024.
