Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) reported a modest increase in June 2024 sales, with a total of 55,228 vehicles sold, marking a 0.1% rise compared to June 2023’s 55,168 units. Year-to-date sales reached 322,443, reflecting a robust 6% increase over the same period last year.

Jeff Walters, President and COO of SOA, acknowledged the exceptional efforts of Subaru retailers in overcoming unexpected challenges and collaborating closely with corporate teams to achieve the 23rd consecutive month of sales growth. He also highlighted the release of Subaru’s annual Corporate Impact Report, showcasing the company’s ongoing Subaru Love Promise initiatives and its dedication to being More Than a Car Company®.

The Outback continued its reign as the top-selling model for the second consecutive month, with 16,853 vehicles sold. The Crosstrek followed closely, achieving its best June ever with 15,132 units sold, a notable 9.6% increase compared to June 2023. The Forester also had a strong month, with 11,108 vehicles sold, marking a 4.1% increase year-over-year. The Solterra saw significant growth, with sales up 115% over the previous year.

Troy Poston, Senior Vice President of Sales at SOA, emphasized the sustained demand for Subaru’s expanding lineup and the brand’s commitment to safety and longevity. He credited the strong partnership with retailers for ensuring customers could rely on Subaru and expressed optimism for continued growth as summer approaches.

Subaru’s model-specific performance in June showed varied results. The Ascent saw a decline with 5,020 units sold, down 14.8% from June 2023. The BRZ experienced a significant drop, with 243 units sold, down 36.4%. The Impreza and Legacy also saw declines, with sales down 16.6% and 21.6%, respectively. Conversely, the Forester and Solterra recorded impressive growth, with the Forester up 4.1% and the Solterra achieving a remarkable 115.3% increase.

Overall, Subaru’s year-to-date performance indicates strong growth, with total sales of 322,443 units, a 6% increase compared to 304,092 units in the same period last year. The Forester showed a substantial 51.4% increase, and the Solterra’s year-to-date sales jumped 81.2%. However, several models, including the BRZ, WRX, and Ascent, experienced declines in both monthly and year-to-date sales.
