Subaru of America continued its streak of sales growth in April 2025, marking the company’s 33rd consecutive month of gains.
Subaru reported total sales of 56,011 vehicles for the month, a modest 0.3% increase compared to April 2024, and a strong year-to-date total of 222,968 units—up 6.8% year-over-year.
These figures reflect both the sustained popularity of Subaru’s core models and a continued push in electrification and safety-forward innovation.

The Forester held onto its title as the brand’s best-selling model for the fourth straight month, with 19,330 units sold—an 8.3% increase over April of last year. Not far behind, the Crosstrek celebrated its best April ever, recording 14,935 units sold, a significant 23.2% increase year-over-year.
Meanwhile, the Outback remained a solid performer with 11,501 units, despite a 12.4% dip from the previous year. Subaru’s smaller models like the BRZ and Legacy saw notable growth as well, with BRZ sales jumping 85.9% and Legacy climbing 11.3%.
However, not all models fared as well. The Ascent, WRX, and all-electric Solterra saw sales declines in April. The WRX experienced the steepest drop, down 59.1% year-over-year, while Solterra sales fell nearly 35%, despite an impressive year-to-date increase of 56.7% thanks to stronger earlier-month performance.
Subaru executives credited this momentum to ongoing customer enthusiasm, a growing model lineup, and retailer dedication. Jeff Walters, President and COO, highlighted the impact of strong community engagement through Subaru’s “Love Promise” initiatives, as well as the recent launch of new models like the 2026 Outback, Outback Wilderness, Solterra, and the all-new Trailseeker.
Senior VP of Sales Troy Poston added that these results underscore Subaru’s ability to adapt to evolving consumer needs—offering vehicles that combine bold design with reliability, advanced safety features, and electrified capability.
The combination of traditional favorites and an expanding EV lineup continues to solidify Subaru’s position as a brand that’s “More Than a Car Company.”
