BETIM, Brazil – August 1, 2024 – In its ongoing pursuit to become carbon-neutral by 2038, Stellantis has announced the expansion of its SUSTAINera product portfolio, introducing a broader range of remanufactured automotive parts in Brazil. This initiative highlights Stellantis’ commitment to sustainable and affordable vehicle maintenance solutions.

Expansion of Remanufactured Parts

Previously offering five lines of remanufactured parts, including turbochargers, steering racks, automatic gearboxes, starters, and alternators, the SUSTAINera range now includes air conditioning compressors, rear differentials, and transfer cases. These parts are available at over 1,200 Stellantis brand dealerships across Brazil, and through new distribution channels such as Mercado Livre and DPK, a specialized automotive parts distributor.

By the end of 2024, the SUSTAINera catalogue will expand to 13 product lines with over 180 components, adding diesel engines, high-pressure pumps, injector nozzles, alloy wheels, and electronics. These parts are remanufactured to OEM specifications, ensuring the same performance and warranty as genuine MOPAR parts, while being approximately 20% cheaper.

Environmental and Economic Benefits

“A remanufactured part is approximately 20% cheaper than a new part, and it’s a more sustainable option, using up to 80% less raw material and up to 40% non-emitted CO2 in the remanufacturing process. This results in lower resource demand and optimized production processes, significantly reducing CO2 emissions,” said Paulo Solti, Vice President of Parts and Services for Stellantis South America.

Industry Recognition and Market Expansion

Launched globally by Stellantis in 2022, SUSTAINera debuted in Brazil with its initial lines of remanufactured products. The program has since expanded, and consumers can now purchase SUSTAINera products online at Mercado Livre and through DPK, which has 18 warehouses across the country.

In recognition of its strong commitment to sustainability, SUSTAINera received the ESG award from Automotive Business in 2023.

Circular Economy at Stellantis

This strategy forms an integrated ecosystem vital for preserving and protecting the planet’s resources.

  • Remanufacturing: Parts are recovered, dismantled, cleaned, and remanufactured to OEM specifications, offering the same performance and warranty as new parts. Over 12,000 part numbers across 38 product lines are available.
  • Repair: Worn parts are repaired and reinstalled in customer vehicles, with E-Repair centers in 24 locations worldwide dedicated to electric vehicle batteries.
  • Reuse: Original parts in good condition are recovered from end-of-life vehicles and reused. More than 7 million parts are available in stock and sold in over 160 countries through the B-Parts e-commerce platform.
  • Recycle: Materials from parts, batteries, and end-of-life vehicles are recycled and fed back into the manufacturing process of new vehicles and products. In 2023, over 2 million parts were collected for recycling.
