Stellantis Expands e-ROUTES App to More Brands, Enhancing EV Experience

Stellantis expands its e-ROUTES app to include Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, and Lancia, providing real-time vehicle data to ease range anxiety by recommending optimal charging stations along any route.

Stellantis has expanded its e-ROUTES mobile application, designed for full electric vehicles, to include Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, and Lancia, following its successful launch with Citroën in October 2023. The app, now available in all European countries, is compatible with CarPlay® and Android Auto™, providing real-time vehicle data to ease range anxiety by recommending optimal charging stations along any route.

Initially launched with Citroën, e-ROUTES has progressively been rolled out to the electric vehicles of Peugeot, DS Automobiles, Opel, and Vauxhall. As of summer 2024, the app is now available to Fiat (600e), Fiat Professional (E-Scudo and E-Doblò), Alfa Romeo (Junior Elettrica), Jeep® (Avenger), and Lancia (Ypsilon Electric) owners.

Developed primarily for customers who purchased an electric vehicle without a navigation system, e-ROUTES offers intelligent trip planning based on real-time vehicle data, such as battery charge level and capacity, and environmental factors like air temperature. The app provides precise suggestions for efficient charging stations along the route, reducing range anxiety during long trips.

Key features of e-ROUTES include:

  • Intuitive Trip Planning: Tailored planning based on dynamic vehicle data and consumption specifications.
  • Full Navigation Experience: Real-time traffic updates, speed camera alerts, and voice instructions.
  • Advanced Routing Algorithm: Calculates the most suitable route considering the quality and availability of charging stations.
  • Real-Time Vehicle Data Connection: Predicts range and charge level on arrival using vehicle telematics.
  • Comprehensive Navigation Features: High-quality maps, real-time traffic information, and travel services.
  • Live Charging Station Availability: Displays live availability of charging stations and nearby amenities like restaurants and hotels.
  • Cost Estimates: Estimates the cost of each charging session to help customers plan their trips efficiently.

Rodolphe Huet, Stellantis VP and Head of Software Product for Electric Vehicle & Navigation Services, emphasized the app’s role in enhancing the electric driving experience: “We are designing tech solutions that enhance the electric driving experience and simplify electric vehicle management. Leveraging software for a new in-vehicle experience, Stellantis offers the power of connected services to make our customers’ life easier, their drive safer, and their trip more exciting.”

e-ROUTES can be accessed via the CONNECT PLUS package or as a standalone service for customers who purchased their vehicle before July 3, 2023. The CONNECT PLUS package, which includes several connected services, comes with a trial period included in the vehicle price, varying by brand. The standalone service offers flexible subscription options at €4 per month or €40 per year.

Stellantis aims to support its customers’ transition to electric vehicles with advanced technology that enhances safety, improves the driving experience, and keeps drivers informed. This initiative aligns with Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, which aims to position the company as a leader in clean, safe, and affordable mobility.
