A Shelby Mustang like the one that featured in Gone in 60 Seconds is selling for £195,000

The 1967 GT500 was an officially licensed reproduction of the car – code-named Eleanor from the Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie movie.

While the 2000 film has cult status rather than being a box office hit Eleanor earned her place in car culture to spawn a variety of imitations.

Between 2007 and 2009 only Classic Recreations of Yukon, Oklahoma, was allowed to reproduce the on-screen hero.

Finished in the Eleanor colour scheme of Pepper Grey featuring two full-length black racing stripes and a black leather interior the car, serial number 0019, was completed by Classic Recreations in early 2008 over the course of 2,500 hours.

Its listing states: “This is a complete reproduction of a 1967 Mustang Fastback built by Dynacorn under the licence of the Ford Motor Company.

“It has a 6.7-litre Keith Craft Racing V-8 engine that is fed by a mass flow fuel injection system.

“The engine delivers 545 horsepower via a Tremec manual transmission.

“Special “Eleanor” touches include the 17-inch Phil Schmidt Engineering wheels, Gone in 60 Seconds badges, and the small matter of a disarmed nitrous system that would be activated by the “Go-Baby-Go” red button on the gear level.

“The car also features Scat Rally Series 1000 seats, five-point harnesses, a woodgrain aluminium steering wheel, 1967-correct Mustang Deluxe door panels, dashboard, and trim, plus air conditioning and electric mirrors.
