Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has introduced the Spectre Lunaflair, a one-of-a-kind bespoke commission for a prominent U.S. client.
This unique creation features an extraordinary holographic paint inspired by the optical phenomenon of a lunar halo—a brilliant technicolor ring formed when moonlight refracts through ice crystals in cirrus clouds. The result is a dazzling rainbow-like effect in sunlight.

The Lunaflair paint, which took over a year to develop, involves a seven-layer lacquer application infused with magnesium fluoride and aluminum flakes to create a metallic, pearlescent finish that shifts dramatically in different lighting conditions.
The concept was inspired by the Phantom Syntopia’s iridescent finish but envisioned as a lighter, more luminous counterpart reflecting the client’s fascination with lunar halos.
Inside, the Spectre Lunaflair features a fully bespoke interior with tones of Navy Blue, White, and Peony Pink, evoking the hues seen during a lunar halo. The unique design extends to the Starlight Headliner and a two-tone steering wheel.
This bespoke paint finish is exclusive to the commissioning client, and no other Spectre Lunaflair will be produced. The project exemplifies Rolls-Royce’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries and delivering unparalleled personalization.
