An astonishing new “UFO taxi” that can take off and land on water has just been unveiled. This innovative flying saucer features 12 battery-powered motors and 12 propellers within its main body, ensuring it can be approached safely.
When fully charged, the craft is capable of flying at altitudes exceeding 650 feet for up to 15 minutes. It reaches a maximum speed of 31 mph and can accommodate two passengers comfortably.
Designed as an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, its appearance is reminiscent of the flying saucers popularized in 1940s and 50s sci-fi movies. The pilot can operate the vehicle manually or switch to autopilot, seated in a cockpit with a bubble canopy.

Recently, the company behind this futuristic vehicle conducted a manned flight at Dameisha Waterfront Park in Shenzhen, near Hong Kong. Footage captures the illuminated saucer ascending gracefully into the night sky, with a captivated crowd recording the event on their phones. Last month, an unmanned test flight was also carried out in Shenzhen.
While the “UFO taxi” boasts air taxi capabilities, it will initially be used for low-altitude tourism rides. Developed by the Shenzhen Zhihang UAV Company, the craft aims to offer passengers a unique sightseeing experience with 360-degree views and an extensive lighting system.
Developer Wang Yang mentioned, “Our main application scenario now, like our manned version, is sightseeing in scenic spots. It will have 360-degree views with no blind spots and a large lighting system.”
The vehicle has successfully passed all necessary safety inspections and received a flight certificate from the authorities in March this year, according to luxury auto news. However, the company has yet to announce the commencement date for regular operations or the pricing for these flights.
