Rare Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Without Windscreen or Roof Sells for Record £2.5 Million

A super rare Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, which lacks a windscreen or roof, has set a new record by selling for £2.5 million at auction. Only 75 of these 219 mph supercars were produced 15 years ago, making them highly sought after by collectors.

This sleek silver sports car is powered by a 641 bhp, 5.4-liter supercharged AMG V-8 engine, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The design of this two-seater was inspired by Sir Stirling Moss’ victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia endurance race.

Despite having covered just 5,737 miles, averaging 382 miles per year, the car’s value has more than tripled from its original price of £780,000. This remarkable appreciation underscores the vehicle’s exclusivity and historical significance.
