A pristine Ford Capri with incredibly low mileage has hit the market for a jaw-dropping sum, despite being nearly 40 years old. This ultra-limited edition model, known as the Capri 280, represents “the last of a famous line” of the iconic vehicle.
Introduced in the mid-’80s, the Capri 280 was the final variant to leave the factory, often referred to as the Capri Brooklands due to its distinctive green color. Only 1,038 units were ever produced, and this particular car is number 971.
First registered in 1987, the car was initially sold to Mr. Chris Powell, who owned it until his death in 2013. It was then passed on to his best friend, who meticulously preserved it. As a result, this Capri has covered only 6,214 miles over its 37-year lifespan, averaging less than 170 miles per year.

The vehicle retains its original Brooklands Green Metallic paint, showing no signs of wear or scratches. The interior is equally immaculate, featuring spotless black leather trim. However, this level of perfection comes with a hefty price tag of £69,995. This follows another Capri listing that fetched an even higher price after spending 19 years in a garage, “never having seen the rain.”
