Unveiled for May 8 Armistice Day, the all-electric Presidential DS N°8 joins France’s official fleet, blending innovation, luxury, and heritage ahead of its 2025 launch.

PRESIDENTIAL DS N°8, a bespoke, all-electric flagship vehicle by DS Automobiles, has officially joined the fleet of the French Presidency, marking a historic milestone as President Emmanuel Macron becomes the first head of a Republic to use a 100% electric official car.

Unveiled for the 8 May 1945 Armistice remembrance, this unique model precedes the market release of the DS N°8 sedan, scheduled for September 2025.

Built as a symbol of French innovation and craftsmanship, PRESIDENTIAL DS N°8 features ACC-supplied batteries offering a record-breaking 750 km range, with the ability to charge 200 km in 10 minutes.

The model’s Sapphire Blue finish, illuminated DS Luminascreen grille bearing the tricolor, and special badges signal its Presidential role. Modified with flag holders and unique black quarter panels, it’s designed for high-profile ceremonial use, staying true to DS’s legacy of serving France’s top office.

A true showcase of French savoir-faire, PRESIDENTIAL DS N°8 was crafted in collaboration with master artisans and high-tech partners:

  • Straw Marquetry by Ateliers Lison de Caunes adorns the dashboard and doors with fan-patterned rye straw in sea green and midnight blue.
  • Dream Blue satin interior panels are provided by MÉTAPHORES, a textile arm of Hermès, sourced from Verel de Belval.
  • Pleated textiles for the door panels are handmade by Atelier Lognon, famed for its work with top fashion houses.
  • Master upholsterers at DS fitted the cabin with Alcantara® and watchstrap Nappa leather, accentuated by signature pearl stitching.

Enhanced for Presidential use, the car is armored by Centigon, France’s premier supplier of secure vehicles. FOCAL, an industry leader in high-end audio, equipped the car with a tailor-made sound system, continuing its long-standing collaboration with DS.
