Braving a Canadian winter, Porsche employee Manuel Ratke embarked on an ambitious 6,500 km road trip from Toronto to Miami in an all-electric Taycan 4S, proving the car’s range, comfort, and performance in extreme conditions.
Facing heavy snow and road closures early in the journey, the Taycan’s all-wheel drive and winter tires ensured stability, even as border officials skeptically wished him “good luck.”

Adjusting their route, Ratke and his wife navigated through Pennsylvania, Virginia, and the Carolinas before arriving in a much warmer Florida, where the Taycan’s range extended up to 650 km per charge.

Exploring the Everglades and Key West without needing a recharge, the Taycan showcased its capabilities as a true grand tourer.

Returning home via a different route, the car averaged an efficient 21.3 kWh/100km. With its rapid charging and exceptional long-distance comfort, Ratke calls the Taycan 4S the “perfect grand tourer,” making electric road trips easier than ever.
