Porsche Engineering is increasing its focus on driving simulators to enable early digital validation of new vehicle functions, reducing reliance on physical prototypes.
As vehicles and control systems grow more complex, Porsche is integrating simulation methods such as Software in the Loop (SiL) and Hardware in the Loop (HiL) with advanced driving simulators for real-time testing.

By combining simulators with HiL systems, developers can gather subjective feedback on driving dynamics and stability functions like Porsche Stability Management (PSM) before prototype vehicles are available.
This approach allows engineers to fine-tune systems under varying road conditions, temperatures, and tire types, significantly accelerating development.

Porsche AG is also enhancing its infrastructure with a Virtual Validation Center (VVC) in Weissach, set to open in 2026. The VVC will house two new moving-platform simulators for testing vehicle dynamics, driving comfort, and acoustics. By using an existing building, Porsche aims to reduce CO₂ emissions and maximize space efficiency.

With this expansion, Porsche is refining simulation-based testing, ensuring more precise, efficient, and sustainable vehicle development while enhancing real-world driving performance.
