Porsche has unveiled the 911 Spirit 70 at the Shanghai Auto Show, a retro-inspired convertible limited to just 1,500 units. Drawing from the aesthetics of the 1970s and early ’80s, this collector’s edition merges nostalgic design with cutting-edge tech.
It’s built on the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet platform and powered by a 3.6-litre hybrid boxer engine delivering 541 hp and 610 Nm, thanks to an electric turbo and motor integrated into the new PDK transmission. Orders are now open, with European deliveries starting April 2025.

The Spirit 70 is the third release in Porsche’s Heritage Design series, following the 911 Targa 4S (inspired by the 1950s-60s) and the 911 Sport Classic (echoing the ’60s-70s). With this line, Porsche revives vintage elements through modern engineering, offering a deeper emotional connection for enthusiasts.

Visually, the car stands out in a bespoke Olive Neo green, contrasted by Bronzite accents and ‘Fuchs’-style wheels. Black silk-gloss stripes and decals, a heritage-style Porsche crest, and gold-plated branding add to its throwback vibe.

Inside, the Pasha fabric returns with an updated black and Olive Neo twist, seen across the seats, trim, and even the glove box. Basalt black club leather with olive stitching and a digital instrument cluster styled like classic dials complete the retro-modern interior.

Porsche also adds lifestyle appeal with matching apparel and accessories, plus a custom-designed chronograph echoing the car’s design. Buyers can dive even deeper into the 70s aesthetic via a new Apple Vision Pro app that allows full 911 Spirit 70 customization and virtual exploration of the decade’s iconic styles.

This launch underscores Porsche’s commitment to design heritage and expanded customization, with plans to grow its Exclusive Manufaktur division and meet rising global demand for bespoke models.
