Aerodynamic Advancements: Over 1,000 kg of Downforce
The Manthey Kit introduces a range of aerodynamic upgrades that significantly increase downforce without compromising drag. Key features include:
- An enlarged carbon fiber spoiler lip, reinforced for greater durability.
- Redesigned wheel arch Gurney flaps and twin dive planes on the front bumper to improve airflow around the car.
- A carbon fiber rear window panel featuring a shark fin for enhanced cornering stability, inspired by the World Sportscar Championship-winning Porsche 963.
- A split carbon fiber DRS wing with larger end plates and an extended diffuser for optimal rear-axle downforce.
- Carbon fiber aerodisc wheel covers to reduce drag.
Together, these enhancements enable the GT3 RS to generate over 1,000 kg of downforce at 285 km/h, ensuring exceptional cornering speeds and stability on the track.
Semi-Active Coilover Suspension
The suspension has been meticulously tuned to handle the increased downforce and demanding track conditions. The semi-active coilover system includes:
- 30% stiffer front springs and 15% stiffer rear springs.
- Four wheel- and three body-acceleration sensors linked to a newly developed control unit for rapid, precise damper adjustments.
- Independent compression and rebound settings for greater adaptability across driving modes (Normal, Sport, Track).
In Track mode, drivers can manually fine-tune the suspension using steering wheel controls, tailoring the setup to their personal preferences and driving style.
Optimized Racing Brake Components
Braking performance has been upgraded to meet the demands of track-day driving:
- Steel-sheathed brake lines deliver a more direct pedal feel and quicker response times.
- Optional racing brake pads, compatible with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), provide consistent performance over a wide temperature range, reducing fade and improving durability.
Customization and Accessories
To complement the performance enhancements, Porsche offers a variety of accessories for the Manthey Kit, including:
- Illuminated carbon fiber door sill guards and LED door projectors with Manthey branding.
- Customizable decals for the aerodisc wheel covers.
- A removable towing eye in multiple colors for track use.
Performance Gains Validated by Experts
Porsche Brand Ambassador Jörg Bergmeister praised the improvements, noting enhanced stability and reduced body movement. “The high contact pressure remains very constant under all driving conditions, improving performance, especially in medium-speed corners,” he said.
Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH, emphasized the collaboration with Porsche engineers: “The Manthey Kit significantly improves lap times compared to the standard 911 GT3 RS. We’ve tested it extensively across European racetracks and the Nürburgring Nordschleife.”
Availability and Warranty
The Manthey Kit is now available for order, with deliveries starting in EU markets in January 2025 and globally by March 2025. The upgrades come with full compatibility under the manufacturer’s warranty for the 911 GT3 RS.
A New Benchmark in Motorsport Technology
By integrating advanced aerodynamics, suspension tuning, and braking components, the Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS redefines what’s possible for track-focused road cars. It offers Porsche enthusiasts a new level of precision and performance, setting the stage for even faster lap times.
