Pilot Company, General Motors, and EVgo have hit a major milestone in their nationwide EV charging initiative, now offering fast-charging stations at over 130 Pilot and Flying J locations across more than 25 states.

This growing network is designed to make long-distance electric travel more practical, connecting key highways like I-75 from Michigan to Georgia and regional routes such as Detroit to Cleveland, San Antonio to Houston, and Dallas to Nashville.

Launched in 2022, the partnership aims to build up to 2,000 fast-charging stalls at 500 travel center locations.

These charging hubs go beyond just power—they include amenities like clean, modern restrooms, 24/7 access, on-site dining, free Wi-Fi, well-lit lounges, and pull-through stalls ideal for EVs towing trailers. Many stations also include overhead canopies for weather protection and added convenience.

EVgo’s high-speed chargers deliver up to 350 kW, allowing many EVs to recharge in as little as 15 minutes. With Plug-and-Charge compatibility, GM EV drivers can start and pay for a session automatically through their vehicle’s app—no cards or apps required at the charger.

With U.S. EV sales reaching 1.3 million in 2024 and GM’s EV sales up 50% in Q4 alone, reliable infrastructure is more crucial than ever. This network expansion supports that demand by providing consistent, well-equipped charging stations across both urban and rural corridors.

As the country heads into the busy travel seasons of spring and summer, Pilot, GM, and EVgo are committed to offering EV drivers a seamless and confident road trip experience.

The effort has already earned high marks from users on PlugShare, and the companies plan to continue building out the network to support the next wave of EV adoption.
