Opel recorded nearly 175,000 new vehicle registrations in Germany in 2024, reflecting a 6.4% increase over the previous year and boosting its market share to 5.6% (up from 5.3% in 2023).
The brand achieved significant gains despite a challenging economic environment, with light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales driving much of the growth.

LCV registrations, including the Combo, Vivaro, and Movano, rose by an impressive 40%, exceeding 26,000 units and increasing Opel’s market share in the segment by over two percentage points to 9.1%.
Passenger car sales also improved, with 147,833 units registered, securing a 5.2% market share (up from 5.1% in 2023).
Patrick Dinger, Head of Opel Germany, credited the success to Opel’s attractive portfolio, particularly its light commercial vehicles and the bestselling Astra. “These results provide strong momentum as we enter 2025, with exciting new models like the Mokka, the family-friendly Frontera, and the flagship Grandland SUV,” he stated.
