Opel’s Combo, Vivaro, and Movano Offer State-of-the-Art ADAS

Rüsselsheim – Opel has unveiled a range of state-of-the-art Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for its new light commercial vehicles (LCVs), including the Opel Combo Electric, Opel Vivaro Electric, and Opel Movano Electric. These systems are designed to enhance safety and ease for drivers, making the new models some of the most advanced in their segments.

One of the standout features is Dynamic Surround Vision, available on the new Opel Combo and Vivaro. This system combines two external cameras, located above the rear doors and under the passenger-side exterior mirror, with a high-definition rearview mirror. The images from these cameras are displayed in the rearview mirror, providing drivers with a comprehensive view of their surroundings. This feature significantly reduces the risk of accidents involving other vehicles, cyclists, or pedestrians, particularly during maneuvers in confined spaces.

In the segment of heavy-duty LCVs, the new Opel Movano stands out with its Level 2 automated driving capabilities. This advanced system, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centring, Traffic Jam Assist, and electric power steering, allows the vehicle to brake, accelerate, and steer itself at speeds up to 30 km/h. While the driver must keep their hands on the steering wheel, this system significantly reduces the effort required in slow-moving traffic.

The Movano also features a Drowsiness Alert system, which prompts the driver to take a break after extended periods of driving. Additional ADAS for the Movano include Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward Collision Alert with Emergency Braking, and Parking Assist, making it a leader in its segment with up to 21 advanced assistance systems.
