Opel marked its 125th anniversary in 2024 under the motto “Forever forward since 1899,” showcasing major achievements including the premieres of the new Opel Grandland and new Opel Frontera SUVs, alongside advancements in electric mobility and sustainable innovation.
The flagship Opel Grandland, unveiled in April, combines cutting-edge design and technology, earning the prestigious ‘Golden Steering Wheel 2024’ award as the ‘Best Car under €50,000’. Built on the BEV-native STLA Medium platform, it features groundbreaking innovations like Intelli-Lux HD lights and the illuminated Opel Blitz.

The family-friendly Opel Frontera, debuting in May, offers hybrid and electric options with flexible seating for up to seven people and an impressive price-performance ratio.
Opel’s electrification push extended to its light commercial vehicle (LCV) lineup with new electric versions of the Combo, Vivaro, and Movano, alongside the debut of the Movano HYDROGEN, capable of over 500 km of zero-emission range. Opel’s rally success continued with the all-electric ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup, now heading into its fifth season in 2025.
Opel CEO Florian Huettl highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility: “Opel is electric.
Every model we offer now includes a battery-electric option.” Looking ahead to 2025, Opel will introduce “Long Range” electric versions of the Grandland and Frontera, the electrified Mokka, and an expanded HYDROGEN LCV lineup, reinforcing its vision for efficient and innovative electric mobility.
