Powered by an impressive 6.0-litre, all-aluminium V-8 engine, the Vector possesses a hair-raising 625 horsepower.
This engine allows the unique vehicle to reach speeds of well over 200 miles per hour.
The WX-3R is a perfect example of the development of American supercars in the 1990s, as reported by Luxury Auto News.
The exterior of the car is finished in an eye-catching Amethyst purple with black leather and purple scaled designed interior.
The Vector Avtech WX-3R is kitted out with scissor-style doors and an angled windshield to achieve its sleek look.
In 1993, the car was given a £600,000 price tag whilst featuring at the Geneva International Auto Salon.
The unique motor will now feature at auction, with an estimated price of £1 million.
RM Sotheby’s will host the sale of the car at an event in Monterey, California, from 14 to 17 August.
The auctioneers stated: “Vector founder Jerry Wiegert’s ultra-ambitious plan to build a ‘fighter jet on four wheels’ not only infused his hand-built supercars with a bevvy of aerospace technologies, but also with a distinctive combination of West Coast individualism, Detroit knowhow, and European influence.
“The 1993 Vector Avtech WX-3R Roadster Prototype remains a unique testament to American supercar design and development in the early 1990s.
“Showcasing Jerry Wiegert’s visionary approach from his California facility, where he pioneered America’s first supercar.
“While within the previous owner’s care, the WX-3R Roadster was carefully furnished with a comprehensive £90,000 suite of restoration work completed by Miller Motorcars of Greenwich, Connecticut.
“This work primarily focused on enhancing the mechanical aspects of this stunning show car, although cosmetic maladies were fully redressed where required.”
