Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has released its production, sales, and export figures for November 2024, revealing a mix of gains and declines across various markets.
Production
Global production dropped 14.3% compared to November 2023, totaling 271,980 vehicles. Japan’s output fell by 10.8% year-on-year to 61,231 units, while production outside Japan decreased by 15.2% to 210,749 vehicles.

Notable trends include a sharp 30.9% decline in U.S. production and a 26.2% drop in China.
In contrast, Mexico recorded an 8.4% rise, producing 60,779 vehicles, and other regions like Taiwan, Thailand, and South Africa collectively increased production by 21.3%. Cumulatively, global production from January to November 2024 reached 2,923,760 vehicles, down 7.8% from the previous year.
Sales
Global sales dipped 1.3% year-on-year in November, totaling 278,763 units. Sales in Japan, including minivehicles, fell slightly by 1.6% to 38,123 vehicles, with a notable 8.8% decline in minivehicle sales.
However, registered vehicle sales in Japan grew by 3.2%. In overseas markets, North America saw a strong performance with a 17.1% rise in sales, driven by an 18.3% increase in the U.S. and a 16.8% gain in Mexico.
Canada also posted an 8.9% increase. Conversely, sales in Europe and China declined, with drops of 6.1% and 15.1%, respectively. Year-to-date global sales remained steady at 3,056,173 units, nearly identical to the previous year’s figures.
Exports
Exports from Japan totaled 35,907 vehicles in November, down 18.0% compared to the same month in 2023. North America experienced a significant 41.3% decline, while shipments to Europe plunged by 57.3%. However, exports to other regions surged by 55.0%. From January to November, total exports reached 357,267 units, a 6.5% decrease year-on-year.
These results highlight both the challenges and successes Nissan has faced across different markets, reflecting broader trends in the global automotive industry.
