NIO ranks 13th in Corporate Knights’ 2025 Global 100, earning top recognition among global automotive companies for its commitment to sustainability and innovation.

On January 22, 2025, Corporate Knights, a respected media and investment research company, unveiled its 2025 Global 100 ranking of the world’s most sustainable corporations.

NIO secured 13th place out of 8,359 evaluated companies, climbing an impressive 37 spots from last year and earning the top rank among global automotive companies.

The Global 100, established in 2005, evaluates companies with over $1 billion in revenue using 25 key performance indicators (KPIs) across economic, environmental, and social governance (ESG) metrics.

NIO achieved perfect scores in sustainable revenue and two additional KPIs, marking its strongest performance since first joining the list three years ago.

Sustainability Leadership

As a UN Global Compact (UNGC) member, NIO integrates sustainability into its mission of “Blue Sky Coming.” In 2023, it became the first Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) company to join the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and to participate in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

The company’s closed-loop resource utilization and innovative programs like BLUE SKY LAB reinforce its commitment to environmental sustainability. Recognized as a Green Factory by Anhui Province in 2024 and included on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Green Supply Chain Management Enterprise list, NIO continues to lead in sustainable supply chain practices.
