Nigel Mansell is selling off some of his prized F1 memorabilia – including his helmet and trophy from his only F1 winning season – for over £150,000.
The Brit retired F1 legend is flogging 40 of his treasured items at an auction.
The lots include a Canon Williams Arai helmet he wore during the 1992 season.

It was the year Mansell, now 71, won his only World Championship.
The helmet – the most expensive of five being sold – is set to sell for up to £50,000 in the RM Sotheby’s sale.

The listing reads: “Dated July 1992, this helmet was worn by Nigel Mansell when he drove for Canon Williams Renault in the 1992 Formula 1 season.
“Mansell won his first and only Formula 1 World Championship that year.”
Also in the collection – all being sold without reserves – is his FIA World Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship Trophy from that year.

It is set to fetch up to £30,000.
Also being sold are his 1990 Scuderia Ferrari Nigel Mansell Formula 1 Signed Race Suit which is tipped to go for £10,000.

A Cartier Panthère Watch with an engraving from sponsor Camel is going under the hammer for around £2,000.

Cheaper items include a Nigel Mansell Black Team Bomber Jacket and a Nigel Mansell Baseball Shirt.



Both are likely to be sold for about £100.
Mansell has previously sold off other racing memorabilia through the auctioneers over the last three years, as reported on Luxury Auto News.
The total estimates for the whole Nigel Mansell’s Legacy Collection Part III is up to £150,150.
Felix Archer, Car Specialist at RM Sotheby’s said: “We have been honoured to sell so much of Nigel’s personal collection over the past two or three years, including his beloved 1991 Williams FW14 and his 1989 Ferrari 640.
“This final selection of Nigel’s collection includes some truly remarkable lots, including his 1992 FIA World Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship Trophy and some very special race-worn helmets and race suits.

“As with the previous items we’ve offered, this collection remains a very rare opportunity to acquire important items directly from a legendary living World Championship-winning driver.”
Mansell had 31 wins and 59 podium finishes in his F1 career.
The sale takes place in Wilshire on 28 April.
Previous sales of his Mansell’s old memorabilia have sold for over £2million.
