For example, the emergency brake assist uses data from front cameras and multiple radar systems, significantly expanding its range of detection. Euro NCAP praised the system’s ability to avoid collisions, particularly with pedestrians and cyclists, even in challenging scenarios such as nighttime or blind-spot encounters.
The lane departure warning, lane change assistant, and exit warning system further enhance safety, especially on motorways. Innovations like exit warning, which delays door opening to prevent collisions with cyclists, and driver fatigue detection add layers of protection.
During the rigorous Euro NCAP tests, which include crash simulations and high-precision driving assessments, the Macan achieved notable scores:
- 90% for adult and child occupant protection
- 83% for vulnerable road user protection
- 78% for safety assist systems
Björn Kern, active safety systems expert at Porsche, emphasized the focus on trust and real-world effectiveness, saying: “We go far beyond minimum requirements to ensure safety.”
The five-star rating highlights Porsche’s commitment to engineering vehicles that deliver top-tier performance, advanced safety, and innovation, making the new electric Macan a standout in its segment.
