We need every American to stand up, face the nearest flag, and hum “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” until you finish reading this article. We are thrilled to announce that the Ford Mustang GTD has just showcased its prowess at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, blazing a trail of freedom up the iconic hill.
You read that right. Just days after celebrating America’s birthday, the latest version of this legendary muscle car made its presence known at an English manor outside London. Reports suggest that upon hearing the roar of the most powerful Mustang ever, locals in red coats fled the scene. You might catch this retreat on video, but if not, trust us—it happened!

In a display of patriotic defiance against the nation that once imposed the Townsend Acts, the Mustang GTD sported a striking “Indulgent Blue” coat. This color is part of Ford’s Extended Color Palette program, which supplements the six standard Mustang GTD colors.
The Extended Color Palette, featuring “thousands of colors” according to Ford, allows buyers to create a custom color. Buyers provide a color sample when ordering their GTD, and Ford’s concierge team strives to replicate it. To ensure satisfaction, a sample of the chosen color is sent back to the buyer for approval. For those seeking true exclusivity, there’s an “Exclusive Extended Color Palette Lock-Out” option, making the chosen color unavailable to any other Mustang GTD buyer. If there’s anything more American than that, we don’t know what it is.
After dominating the 1.2-mile course at Goodwood, the Mustang GTD is heading to Germany to tackle the Nürburgring, aiming for a sub-seven-minute lap of the Nordschleife. If we could, we’d be there with bells on, because freedom rings!
