Motoring influencer Ms May has gone viral for sharing DIY car repair hacks using household items like glue sticks, lighters, and toothpaste to fix dents and scratches.

A motoring influencer has revealed simple tricks to remove scratches and marks from a car – using household items including a lighter, glue stick and toothpaste.

Driver, Ms May, who has over 4m followers on TikTok, regularly shares easy and cost-friendly hacks for car owners.

In a video with over 24,000 views, she reveals how to save money by fixing two common issues by yourself.

And you probably already have the ‘tools’ required in your house.

In the TikTok, May starts off by showing how to remove dents, as reported by Luxury Auto News.

“Today’s hack – coffee money,” she said.

“Grab a hot glue stick, melt the tip with your lighter and slap it on the dent.

“Hold it.”

May then counts down from three and pulls the glue stick off the side of the car.

The dent appears to have been smoothed out.

For scratches, May also has a very easy tip.

She said: “Scratches – toothpaste and an old shirt.

“Buff like this – gone.

“If you find this useful smash follow and tag your broke friend.”

May often shares tips on how to maintain a vehicle without splashing the cash.

She has previously revealed what to do when the engine doesn’t start and unveiled secret car features that sometimes go unnoticed.
