Mercedes-Benz Shines at Pebble Beach Automotive Week 2024

Mercedes-Benz will captivate at the 2024 Pebble Beach Automotive Week with world premieres, historic vehicles, and a celebration of 130 years of motorsport excellence.

Mercedes-Benz is set to make a significant impression at the 2024 Pebble Beach Automotive Week, showcasing a range of world premieres and automotive icons that underscore the brand’s enduring legacy of innovation, luxury, and motorsport excellence. One of the most anticipated reveals is the global debut of the new Mercedes-Maybach SL, a vehicle that epitomizes the brand’s dedication to combining high performance with unmatched luxury.

Alongside this, a limited special edition of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 racing car will also make its debut, further solidifying Mercedes-Benz’s reputation in the world of motorsport. This exclusive GT3 model draws inspiration from two pivotal eras in the brand’s racing history and will be available in a highly limited run of just 13 units.

In addition to these modern marvels, Mercedes-Benz is also celebrating its storied past with the unveiling of the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Edition Nordic Glow, a special edition developed specifically for the Pebble Beach audience.

This bespoke version of the S 680 is part of the MANUFAKTUR customization program and will be offered in limited quantities, exclusively for the U.S. market. The S 680 Nordic Glow continues Mercedes-Maybach’s tradition of creating exceptional vehicles that cater to the tastes of the most discerning customers.

Also gracing the event is the newly restored Mercedes-Benz C 111-II, an experimental vehicle from 1970 that features the original four-rotor Wankel engine. This futuristic supercar, which can reach speeds of up to 300 km/h, has been meticulously brought back to life by the experts at the Mercedes-Benz Classic Centre, making its first appearance at Pebble Beach after more than five decades.

The Pebble Beach Automotive Week also serves as a platform for Mercedes-Benz to commemorate 130 years of motorsport history. As part of this celebration, the brand is bringing several historic vehicles to the event, including the legendary Mercedes-Benz W 196 R Grand Prix car from 1955, which was driven to victory by Juan Manuel Fangio.

Additionally, the Maybach Zeppelin DS 8 from 1932 and the Mercedes two-litre Targa Florio race car from 1924, both of which have been painstakingly restored, will also be on display, offering attendees a glimpse into the rich heritage of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

The prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, now in its 73rd year, will see Mercedes-Benz leading the Tour d’Elegance with the C 111-II and the Targa Florio race car. This scenic drive, which is one of the highlights of the automotive week, features around 150 cars and takes participants along some of California’s most breathtaking roads, including the famous 17-Mile Drive and Highway 1 to Big Sur.

The week culminates in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where Mercedes-Benz has a strong tradition of success. In 2023, the brand secured its 10th “Best of Show” title with a 540 K Special Roadster, making it the most successful marque in the event’s history. This year, the brand’s diverse lineup of both historic and contemporary vehicles is sure to captivate enthusiasts and judges alike, continuing Mercedes-Benz’s legacy as a symbol of automotive excellence.
