Mercedes-Benz is accelerating its journey toward a net-carbon-neutral* new vehicle fleet by 2039, already offering a wide range of fully electric vehicles. As part of its efforts, the company launched the “Get in!” campaign, giving employees the chance to test drive electric models during work hours.

This initiative allows participants to experience the performance of all-electric vehicles and their advanced driver assistance systems in real traffic. By the end of the campaign, about 27,000 employees across Germany, Poland, and Hungary will have taken part.

“You have to experience e-mobility firsthand. This is true for our customers, but especially for our team,” said Jörg Burzer, Mercedes-Benz Board Member for Production, Quality, and Supply Chain Management.

Currently, around 10,000 test drive slots are available at key sites like Untertürkheim, Sindelfingen, Rastatt, and Bremen. Employees can drive models such as the EQA, EQB, EQE, EQS, EQE SUV, and EQS SUV, in groups guided by instructors offering insights into the EQ series.

Launched in 2023, the campaign was initially aimed at employees involved in vehicle production. More than 17,000 employees took part, with nearly two-thirds driving an electric Mercedes for the first time.

Due to the positive response, the program expanded in 2024 to include all employees, with a weekly raffle offering up to 20 vehicles for weekend use.

“These test drives inspire excitement, visible on the faces of our employees. This passion drives the success of Mercedes-Benz,” noted Sabine Kohleisen, Board Member for Human Resources.

Mercedes-Benz’s workforce, consisting of around 166,000 employees from over 140 nations, plays a crucial role in the company’s transformation.

As it advances innovative automotive technologies, the company remains committed to its goal of a net-carbon-neutral vehicle fleet by 2039, with expectations that electric and plug-in hybrid cars will make up to 50% of new car sales by the latter half of this decade.

*Net-carbon-neutral means CO₂ emissions are offset by certified compensation projects.
