The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has emerged as the top performer in the latest Euro NCAP evaluation for driver assistance systems, scoring 182 points and earning the highest rating of “very good” among five other models tested.
This success follows high scores achieved by Mercedes’ EQE Sedan, EQE SUV, and E-Class in previous rounds, reflecting the brand’s ongoing commitment to advanced safety and driver assistance technology.

In this evaluation, the C-Class Saloon excelled with an 85% score in Assistance Competence and 97% in Safety Backup, aided by features such as the Active Emergency Stop Assist, which can autonomously steer and bring the vehicle to a controlled stop during driver incapacitation, including lane changes where permitted.
Markus Schäfer, CTO of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, expressed pride in the company’s safety achievements, stating that Mercedes-Benz aims to prevent accidents or minimize their severity in real-world situations. “Independent organizations like Euro NCAP affirm the high performance of our assistance systems,” Schäfer noted.
Mercedes has integrated over 40 driver assistance systems in its models, including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, and Active Lane Change Assist, along with safety features like PRE-SAFE® PLUS.
The optional Driving Assistance Package Plus available on the C-Class includes these functions, enhancing driver control and passenger safety.
The C-Class’ impressive results also reflect updates to Euro NCAP’s evaluation criteria, which now include stricter standards for collision avoidance with motorcycles and bicycles.
These adjustments ensure that vehicles equipped with the latest assistance systems, like the C-Class, meet heightened safety requirements, underscoring Mercedes-Benz’s focus on comprehensive safety for all road users.
