The “Born in Affalterbach” SUV represents a milestone, following AMG’s history of pushing boundaries in the SUV market. Over 25 years ago, AMG made waves with the ML 55 AMG, one of the first high-performance SUVs, and today the brand boasts a robust lineup of six AMG SUV models, including electric and combustion options like the iconic AMG G 63.
With this latest model, AMG is advancing its philosophy of “AMG First, EV Second,” ensuring that while the SUV is electric, it retains the intense performance and emotional impact AMG vehicles are known for.
Michael Schiebe, Mercedes-AMG GmbH’s Chairman, explained, “With the ‘Born in Affalterbach’ SUV, we are responding to strong customer demand for high-performance off-roaders that are both captivating and true to AMG’s identity. Our new electric architecture underscores this with vehicles that excel as EVs while embodying the core AMG qualities of emotion and performance.”
This new SUV will be the sixth AMG vehicle entirely developed by the Affalterbach team, joining iconic models like the GT and SL, and follows the first AMG.EA model, which is currently in the testing phase. This release signals AMG’s commitment to redefining electric performance for the SUV market, promising an exciting blend of cutting-edge electric technology and the hallmark AMG driving experience.
