Mercedes-AMG ONE Sets New Nürburgring-Nordschleife Lap Record with 6:29.090 Time

Maro Engel has set a new record in the Mercedes-AMG ONE, beating his previous best time by over five seconds on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, solidifying the hypercar’s position as the fastest production vehicle.

With a remarkable lap time of 6:29.090 minutes, the AMG ONE, equipped with Formula 1™ hybrid drive technology, became the first road-legal car to break the 6:30-minute mark.

Engel, a Mercedes-AMG brand ambassador and DTM driver, praised the effort of the entire team, noting that ideal track conditions on September 23, 2024, allowed him to push the car’s potential to new heights.

The Mercedes-AMG ONE, which incorporates Formula 1™ innovations like a 782 kW hybrid drive and complex aerodynamics, has redefined what a production car can achieve.

With its E PERFORMANCE system featuring a 1.6-liter V6 hybrid engine and four electric motors, the hypercar delivers both extreme power and high efficiency. Advanced systems such as the four-stage Energy Flow Control (EFC) and Drag Reduction System (DRS) helped Engel maximize the car’s performance on the demanding 20.8-kilometre track.
