Lucid Group (NASDAQ: LCID) has announced a strategic partnership with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to drive next-generation electric vehicle innovation.
The collaboration aims to strengthen Lucid’s R&D capabilities in key areas such as ADAS, EV powertrains, battery systems, software-defined vehicles, and advanced materials—all aligned with Saudi Arabia’s vision of becoming a global mobility innovation hub.

Through this alliance, Lucid gains access to KAUST’s world-class research facilities and supercomputing infrastructure, accelerating breakthroughs in fluid dynamics, structural optimization, crash safety, thermal modeling, and AI development, including autonomous systems and digital twin technology.
Joint research will take place at KAUST’s labs in King Abdullah Economic City, focusing on cross-disciplinary engineering and the development of advanced materials like metallic and polymer composites, reflective coatings, and unconventional laminates to enhance vehicle performance and efficiency.
Lucid’s leadership expressed strong optimism, highlighting this partnership as a significant step in expanding their global innovation footprint and bringing cutting-edge research into real-world EV applications.
