Austrian driver Luca Pröglhöf secured the 2024 ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup title with one race remaining, following a strong second-place finish at the Rallye Coeur de France.
Pröglhöf and co-driver Christina Ettel navigated the challenging asphalt course in Vendôme, ensuring a clean run to seal the championship. Spaniard Alex Español, alongside co-driver Daniel Rivera de la Red, took first place, marking their maiden victory of the season in their Opel Corsa Rally Electric.

Pröglhöf’s strategic, error-free drive placed him comfortably behind Español, earning enough points to make it impossible for rivals Anthony and Adrien Rott to challenge him for the title in the season’s final race.
“It was one of the most challenging rallies I have ever driven because risk minimization was our priority,” said Pröglhöf. “Now it’s time to celebrate.”
Español dominated the rally, clocking the fastest times in six of the eight stages and finishing 33.6 seconds ahead of Pröglhöf. Guest driver Arthur Roché took third place, denying Anthony Rott a podium finish after a strong performance in the Power Stage. Despite this, Rott remains in contention for the runner-up spot in the championship standings.
The final race of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup will take place at the Central European Rally on October 19-20, 2024.
Standings after 7 of 8 rounds:
- Luca Pröglhöf – 217 points
- Anthony Rott – 175 points
- Alex Español – 156 points
