Lexus is off to a strong start in 2025, with first-quarter sales in Europe rising 15% year-on-year to a total of 22,096 vehicles, boosting its market share in the region to 2.6%, up by 0.4 percentage points.
A striking 95% of all Lexus vehicles sold in Europe this year were electrified, underscoring the brand’s successful pivot toward low- and zero-emission powertrains. In fact, Lexus now offers only electrified models in Western Europe, including markets like Poland.

NX and LBX Dominate European Sales
The backbone of Lexus’ performance in Europe continues to be its popular crossover and SUV lineup. The NX SUV led the charge with 7,883 units sold from January to March.
Of those, 3,978 were NX 350h hybrids, while 3,845 were NX 450h+ plug-in hybrids, showing a nearly even split in buyer preference between traditional hybrid and PHEV options.

Close behind was the LBX, the compact hybrid crossover launched to target urban markets. Despite its smaller footprint, the LBX tallied 7,345 units sold, nearly matching the NX and proving its strong appeal with its 136 hp hybrid drivetrain and city-friendly proportions.
Supporting Cast: UX, RZ, RX, and ES
In the premium compact SUV segment, the Lexus UX added 2,497 units to the tally. Buyers largely preferred the fifth-generation hybrid version (1,965 units), while 532 opted for the fully electric UX 300e, which features a 72.8 kWh battery.
Among Lexus’ all-electric offerings, the RZ remains its top-selling EV in Europe, with 923 units delivered. It’s available in two power variants: 204 hp and 313 hp.
Sales of the RX midsize SUV reached 1,411 units, with buyers showing a slight preference for the full hybrid variants (710 units) over the plug-in version (491 units of the RX 450h+).

Meanwhile, the ES sedan continues to hold its own as the most popular non-SUV in the lineup. Out of 1,016 units sold, a commanding 997 were hybrid-powered, reaffirming the enduring popularity of Lexus’ signature sedan for buyers seeking a traditional body style with modern fuel efficiency.

Electrified Growth Strategy Proves Effective
Lexus’ strong Q1 results in Europe highlight not only the rising popularity of electrified vehicles but also the brand’s successful strategy of tailoring its lineup to regional demands.
With its diverse mix of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery-electric options across multiple segments, Lexus is cementing its position as a key player in Europe’s premium electrified vehicle market.
