Amid the excitement of Monterey Car Week 2024, Lexus is marking its 35-year legacy with a showcase at the Pebble Beach activation space. From the iconic 1990 Lexus LS 400, which launched the brand, to the cutting-edge LF-ZC and LF-ZL concepts making their North American debut, Lexus is offering a unique look at its past, present, and future.
A Glimpse into the Future: LF-ZC and LF-ZL Concepts
The centerpiece of Lexus’ display will be the LF-ZC (Lexus Future Zero-emission Catalyst) and LF-ZL (Lexus Future Zero-emission Luxury) concept vehicles. These concepts represent Lexus’ vision for the future, featuring next-generation battery electric vehicles (BEVs) designed to deliver personalized luxury.
The LF-ZC and LF-ZL embody advanced technologies, including a fully digital intelligent cockpit and the Arene Operating System (OS), which aims to provide a more intuitive and personalized driving experience by anticipating the driver’s needs.
Celebrating 35 Years: A Nod to the Past
In addition to futuristic concepts, Lexus will honor its heritage with a display of the 1990 Lexus LS 400, famously featured in the brand’s original “Balance” commercial. This ad, which debuted in 1989, showcased the smooth acceleration and refinement of the LS 400 by balancing a pyramid of champagne glasses on its hood while reaching 145 mph. Visitors will have the chance to see this legendary vehicle up close, reflecting on how far Lexus has come in its 35-year journey.
Current Lineup and Interactive Experiences
Lexus will also highlight its current lineup, offering attendees a chance to explore models like the GX 550 Luxury+ Malbon Concept, GX 550 Overtrail+, IS 500, LC 500 Convertible, LX 600, RC F GT3, and RZ 450e. These vehicles, displayed alongside the new concepts, emphasize Lexus’ commitment to blending luxury with cutting-edge technology and performance.
For those eager to get behind the wheel, the Lexus Drive Experience will run from August 17 to 19, allowing guests to enjoy 20-minute drives through the scenic Pebble Beach Resorts community. Available models for the drive include the GX 550, IS 500, LC 500, LC 500 Convertible, LX 600, RZ 300e, and RZ 450e.
Supporting the Community
Lexus continues its tradition of giving back by supporting the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® Charity. This year, Lexus is offering a two-year lease for a 2024 Lexus GX 550 Premium as part of a charity drawing to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monterey County. The drawing will take place on Sunday, August 18, at 4 p.m. PT at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®.
