Kia has taken home top honors at the 2025 Red Dot Award: Product Design, with its compact electric SUV, the EV3, named ‘Best of the Best’ in the Cars and Motorcycles category.
This win marks Kia’s third major design award for its EV lineup in recent years, following the EV9’s victory in 2024 and the EV6’s in 2022—solidifying the brand’s growing reputation for bold, future-forward design on the global stage.
Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, described the recognition as a testament to the team’s passion and commitment to delivering thoughtful mobility solutions.

He noted that the EV3’s design reflects the brand’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, blending geometric structure with emotional appeal, while also integrating innovative, sustainable material choices. The design ethos extends from the vehicle’s edgy, folded surfaces to its warm, living space-inspired interior.
The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions, with the ‘Best of the Best’ title reserved for only the most exceptional entries. Kia will formally receive the accolade at the Red Dot Gala in Essen, Germany, on July 8, 2025.
With its assertive exterior—defined by strong shoulders, a smooth profile, and vertically aligned headlamps—the EV3 stands out as a compact yet commanding presence. Its cohesive design includes a seamless connection between the C-pillar and rear glass, enhancing both aerodynamics and style.
Inside, the EV3 focuses on comfort and practicality. It seats five passengers and features a panoramic widescreen display that unifies the vehicle’s driving and media systems. The smart center console includes a sliding table and storage area, blending convenience with refined aesthetics.
As Kia continues to evolve its design language through vehicles like the EV3, it reinforces its position as a trendsetter in the electric mobility space.
