Kia EV3 Named 2025 World Car of the Year
Kia’s EV3 has taken top honors at the 2025 World Car Awards, winning World Car of the Year at a live ceremony during the New York International Auto Show.
Judged by 96 automotive journalists from 30 countries, the award marks Kia’s sixth win at the prestigious event since 2020.

“This win reflects Kia’s global leadership in design, tech, and sustainability,” said Ho Sung Song, Kia’s President and CEO. “The EV3 redefines compact EVs with its class-leading innovation and user experience.”
The EV3 delivers a bold design and smart interior layout, featuring up to 605 km of range, rapid 31-minute charging (10-80% with the 81.4 kWh version), and a suite of modern tech including AI Assistant, ADAS, and OTA updates.
The EV3 follows a streak of past Kia winners:
- EV9 – 2024 World Car of the Year & World Electric Vehicle
- EV6 GT – 2023 World Performance Car
- Telluride – 2020 World Car of the Year
- Soul EV – 2020 World Urban Car
