Kia America has reached a major milestone with the sale of its 1 millionth Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle, underscoring the growing popularity and consumer trust in its pre-owned program.
The historic sale happened at Kia of Brandon in Tampa, Florida, where customer Bryce Ashmore purchased a 2024 Kia EV6 Light Long Range—a model praised for its performance and design.
To celebrate the achievement, Kia surprised Ashmore by gifting him the vehicle, recognizing his purchase as a symbol of the brand’s progress and quality.

Ashmore expressed his gratitude, noting that the EV6’s strong reviews and the value of CPO vehicles influenced his decision: “Kia is building a quality product that will stay with you, so your gift is truly hard to believe.”
Kia launched its CPO program in 2008, with the first sale being a 2006 Kia Rio at a dealership in Milford, Connecticut.
Since then, the program has expanded steadily, offering pre-owned vehicles that undergo a rigorous 165-point inspection, backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, 24/7 roadside assistance, and other customer-first perks.
Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales at Kia America, highlighted how the program reflects the brand’s evolution. “From Rio to EV6, reaching 1 million CPO sales is a testament to the quality, reliability, and value that Kia delivers,” he said.
Kia’s improved reputation is also reflected in its climb from #12 in J.D. Power’s residual value rankings in 2018 to #3 in 2024, further validating the long-term worth of a Kia, whether new or certified pre-owned.
Enhanced by positive ratings from both J.D. Power and Kelley Blue Book, Kia’s CPO vehicles continue to present a compelling choice for value-conscious buyers seeking quality and peace of mind.
